Wonder Twins, Unite!
The sky is the limit when like minded projects work together.
It is absolutely amazing that the much-anticipated launch of Harmony Protocol’s Open Staking on a Sharded Mainnet is here! Harmony is the first blockchain project to successfully test and publicly field a sharded network, with Open Staking (EPoS).
This weekend, the network update will be complete, and open staking will be live. Time to go delegate for your favorite validator and start earning rewards! There are many ways to do this, to include Harmony’s own Staking explorer, Trust and Math wallets, as well as using a Ledger Nano S. (The X is not supported just yet!)
My favorite way to stake on Harmony though, will be through Sesameseed. Sesameseed is a multi-chain community staking project, with nodes on two blockchains already (Tron and Ontology). Harmony will be the third, and the team is already exploring other chains to which it might add a node next! Sesameseed is by far the easiest way to stake on Ontology, and will bring the same neat features to Harmony. On the Harmony chain, delegators will be responsible for periodically opening their wallet and claiming their rewards, much like on Ontology. Sesameseed’s solution for Ontology will bring ease of staking to Harmony also, ensuring that you don’t have to go and claim your rewards. Worthy of note, is that with Sesameseed, you are not rewarded in the native chain’s token. Instead, you are rewarded with the project’s token SEED, which is backed by an ever-growing peg of tokens earned from each of the blockchains on which Sesameseed operates a staking node.
What excites me most about this pairing, is that both teams have extremely similar views on the space. Both projects place community above almost all else! (The tech has to come first… they’re IT nerds, not traders!) The way each of these two projects engages with the community, truly listens, and wants to push towards decentralization as the prize upon which they keep their eyes, will no doubt drive both to cooperative success. While each project has their own goals and visions of the future, they align quite nicely. Something tells me that this pairing of near identical world views will help push both projects into the future, and the forefront of the blockchain space!
Between the speed and scalability of the Harmony chain, as well as the ease of participation through staking with Sesameseed, this Wonder Twin like pairing will no doubt do great things together in the future!
